rosa los gatos, a mild 47 and take a look at the bay bridge. it's gotten worse in the last couple of hours but it is still getting squished at the surface. high pressure is building on top of it. we'll allow for more sunshine with 51 in san jose. 48 in half moon bay. plenty of events going on around the bay today with the brides marching today. breezy conditions and fog lasts until about 10:00 or 11:00 and few patches of san mateo coast and stay dry with the rain arriving late on the day on tuesday. here is a look at the visibility. it's clear up in santa rosa. half mile visibility down the road in novato. mile and a half in napa and hundred yards in livermore. two and a half at the san carlos airport and fog around the coast and in san jose. throughout the rest of the morning hours, you'll notice it continues to shrink and evaporate. we'll get into the sunny conditions and numbers climbing into the 50s in the early part of the day. by the afternoon we should be once again from 10 degrees above normal today. here is a look at satellite. you'll notice the high pressure as it sits o

rosa is reporting some light rain and most reason observation and here is a light doppler sweep and the main focus and the southern third in parts of the south bay and fremont, these yellows do indicate more moderate downpours and in san jose closer to willow friend, it is still breezy and you can see a gust up to 40 miles per hour and the winds are sustained at 23 miles per hour. and fairfield out of the southwest end 16 miles per hour. these readings are mainly in the upper 40s to 50s and santa rosa 42 do go. tomorrow we will introduce more rain and over the weekend we clear out the clouds and warm things back up. here is the area responsible for the rain this morning. we haded circulation and we have snow levels which are possibly down to thousand people feet. as you notice we have a few breaks in the clouds and a few pop-up showers and breaks in the action and we take it to thursday, look what happens thursday morning being and the activity begin begins to increase for tomorrow afternoon. a ooh it is a big it t- and counsel being things up, winter storm is taking place righ

problems in santa rosa, high winds took down this tree with cable, phone and power lines coming down with it. it happened at:15 when the storm was really moving through. in novato, the winds left businesses in the dark, including at the shopping center. several restaurants at the hamilton marketplace lost their power late this morning. for many, the drive across the golden gate bridge was dicey. this cell phone video shows rain hitting the windshield pretty fast and furious. check in with our meteorologist, mike nicco, for what is happening now with live doppler 7 hd. >> much quieter. it was a notesy night for people in san francisco and up north from what i have heard and seen on twitter the winds were strong, and it made for a last noise. we do have a few showers to the north and you can see right here florence avenue, that is where one of our better radar returns is with light rain falling headed to the northeast at 30 to 35 miles per hour and hitting santa rosa in 11 minutes and we have a storm that is about 10 or 15 minutes away from st. helena, just the latest update, that is h

on with the rain season, we put a small pinprick dent in it but we are still 6" in santa rosa and 5.5" in san francisco and san bruno and oakland and 3.5" in san jose and livermore and you can see we need more rain. we have a transition that will be breezy at times with a few clouds but a bright are day. we start off in the 40's this morning and hanging out mainly in the mid to upper 50's and in the low-to-mid 60's at 4:00, and back near the upper 50's by 7:00. looking ahead, it will be breezy tomorrow with temperatures above average and we will have high clouds and sunshine for saturday and for sunday. temperatures are running above average at the coast. we will be in mid-to-upper 50's. >> it is thursday. we have clear conditions on the golden gate bridge, two lanes for the southbound drive right now but that will be reconfigured to road lanes. there is road work up the waldo before the tunnel and then it is wide open. the two right lanes are blocked for road work for the time being. on the peninsula we also have road work exiting, southbound, 101 embarcardero road to shore lean for about 20

, not with all the answers but with a lot of hurt. >> a memorial with marcus johnson here at santa rosa bible church. his life was kron called on stage from infancy to basketball to a go-cart racer. they had a loving and supportive relationship. his short life touched hundreds of people. they gathered at the church to honor and celebrate his life. his mother deanna johnson was deeply touched. >> i'm overwhelmed by the number of people that are here. he would be overwhelmed i think he would say, wow, cool. >> he was killed march 16th when a sprinted car driven by his cousin chase johnson malfunctioned. the car geared off the track killing mar kiss and a supporter. his mother mentioned taking him to school each day. >> it's going to be really hard taking him to school and picking him up every day. every day i pass middle rincon road and have tears in my eyes. >> they talked about his behavior and young female friend broke down in tears for a song dedicated to marcus. >> his family said he would like to help students that are less fortunate. some of the money will go to help to pay for students.

into the cause of a fire that destroyed part of a horse-training facility near santa rosa. it erupted at 8:00 last night on the large property on crane canyon road near petaluma road. the flames destroyed a big barn and threatened living quarters. two families were displaced by the fire along with 65 horses kept in the site. firefighters from several agencies remained on the property over night. >> an arsonist is suspected of igniting a brush fire in the east bay. this fire started at 7:30 last night off highway 4 in martinez. witnesses reported seeing a man with a flashlight pulling some kind of -- pouring some kind of lighter fluid in the area. >> jewelry box from the oakland museum is back where it belongs after being stolen. oakland police arrested this man who may also be connected to a november 12 break in at the museum when three pistols and several gold nuggets were stolen. they have not been recovered. the gold and jewelry box was then off yesterday, it is worth $800,000. it was stolen on january 7. police say that the burglar snuck in the museum through a locked door. the museum

in fairfield, 43 napa, the first 30-degree mark i've seen all morning long. santa rosa slipping before 40 in the last half hour, 39 degrees right now. 51 in mountain view. notably, mild as you get outside this morning, a look at the pacific satellite view with the ridge of high pressure off the west coast but continuing to nudge in and as it does it's going to continue to drive temperatures. sinking air associated with the high pressure also bringing back the patchy fog, sal is tracking it, i'm watching it as well, the sinking air pushing some moisture to the ground. where are we seeing patchy dense fog? especially thick in novato, petaluma, napa. as we get into sunrise before 7:30, it will continue and become a little built more widespread, by 10:00 or so it's burning away from the inland areas, just inside the bay. for the lunch hour only the coast still dealing with the fog, and for the afternoon sunny skies around the region. your extended forecast for today, afternoon highs will be a few degrees warmer in many areas, especially away from the coast. tomorrow is going to be the hottest
